The beautiful village of Mundesley on the Norfolk coast near Cromer is a perfect location for visiting nature reserve’s and properties owned by National Trust.
It is also a great center for golf with some great golf corses nearby, fishing with 2 lakes within 2 miles, many footparths and woods for walking and cycling.
Mundesley has one of the best beaches in Norfolk beautiful golden sand, a café and beach shop for all your needs, including deckchair hire.
Mundesley beach is very safe for swimming but as with any open water you must follow a few common-sense rules. RNLI Lifeguards are here 7 days a week to give you advice and we recommend you swim between their flags which are in front of their lookout.
Dogs are allowed on the beach but must be kept on a lead in the main area of beach. However once you are away from the centre beach there are miles of beautiful beach where they can have a good run around.
Several by roads around Mundesley are classified as Quiet lanes. These are ideal for walking and cycling. View quiet lanes map
Bacton Woods only about 4 miles from Mundesley is a great place for walking (with or without a dog) and cycling. A family can go cycling on the main paths or following a circular trail is a great introduction to this hobby and is safe away from traffic. For the more adventurous mountain biker, there are a labyrinth of minor paths winding through the trees and up and down this surprisingly hilly terrain. Look out for the entrances to these paths from the main tracks. It is also a great place for a picnic. Download Leaflet
Fishing boat going off Mundesley to catch local crabs Known as Cromer crabs, but these crabs can be court all along this stretch of coast.
Near the Golf links is a fishing lake where anglers can spend a few quiet hours fishing.
